Men triumph in Newcastle to kick off Armed Forces week!

UKAF - 90 North of England XV - 14

In an exhilarating match at Kingston Park, the home ground of the Newcastle Falcons, the UK Armed Forces men showcased a dominant display against a North of England Select team. The game, filled with thrilling tries and high-paced action, ended with UKAF emerging victorious. From the outset, UKAF demonstrated their superior skills and coordination, swiftly taking control of the game. Their offensive strategies and solid defence left the North of England Select struggling to keep pace.

Despite a commendable effort from the North of England Select, the match was largely one-sided. The 2,250 supporters that came to watch the game unfold, saw a massive 14 tries scored over the 80 minute period, even with one of the debutatnts No.14 MNE Kane Teear – Bourge take home a hatrick of tries. Adding to the excitement was a yellow card incident, which temporarily reduced UKAF to 14 men, after No.8 LBDR Shane Nayalo. However, this did little to dampen their momentum.

The disciplined and well-organized UKAF team managed to maintain their dominance even while a man down, further highlighting their prowess. Overall, the game was a testament to UKAF’s strength and teamwork, providing an entertaining spectacle for the fans at Kingston Park. Seeing No.9 ETME Will Rigelsford receive the award of Player of the match after the 80 minutes he had showcased.
