In June 22, the French Armed Forces hosted the first World Military 7s Championships in Agen. Representing the UK for the first time with a Men’s and Women’s 7s team, UKAF put together a squad combining the best talent from the single services for a chance to become World Champions.

Pool Games (Women)
The Women’s team faced an unknown entity in Uzbekistan, who performed well with UKAF winning 14-7, then Australia where the UKAF Women had too much pace out wide winning 36-14 and a humbling defeat to the favourites France 0-31.
Finals Day (Women)
With a limited championship style format, the semi-final gave UKAF another run at Australia, who couldn’t keep up with Teagan Morley and Fiondi Parker out wide with UKAF cruising to a 26-5 win to setup another encounter with France in the finale. Having got the measure of their opposition in the pool, the UKAF girls now had their game plan refined but didn’t have enough to counter a string of French tries early in the second half. The final score was 24-12 with the French hoisting the trophy to a home crowd in full applause.
